Intraoral Camera Franklin, WI

Intraoral Camera

We are dedicated to giving our patients the high quality care they deserve. We are proud to offer the latest technologies and equipment to keep their mouths healthy. One way we do this is by offering our patients the intraoral camera. They always say that a picture is worth a thousand words. We use our camera for just that reason.

We can take a picture and show you what is going on with your mouth. You may not believe you have dental disease until you see the pictures. Our camera is also very helpful when we are tracking the disease’s progress. We can take before and after pictures to determine if the treatment is working. We can see how far your mouth has come and determine if more treatment or a whole different type of treatment is needed.

If you decide to get a complicated procedure, a picture may help you see what you really can’t see otherwise.

Laser Dentistry Franklin, WI

Laser Dentistry

Laser dentistry is not very common, though there are many benefits to using laser during procedures. Wounds from the surgery heal much faster because there is less damage to the surrounding tissue. Lasers minimize bleeding and post-surgical bacterial infections. Often, anesthesia and sutures are not needed after procedures when a laser is used.

Lasers can be used for many different dental procedures. It is an efficient way to find cavities. It can be used to fill them without the need for anesthesia. It can be used to remold gums that grow up and over a patient’s teeth. Many dentists use a laser for dental surgery, like cutting out extra tissue in the mouth, to remove tumors, and much more.

Laser dentistry makes procedures much smoother, more efficient, and less painful for patients. People who are afraid or very anxious at the dentist should find dentists who offer laser dentistry. They will be surprised at how painless it can be to come to the dentist.

DIAGNOdent

Here at Susan Chmiel, DDS, we are dedicated to providing our patients with the latest technological advances. We work diligently, advocating for early detection of cavities and gum disease.

We are proud to say that we use the Diagnodent® cavity-detection device. This device is a high-tech fluorescent laser that aids in detecting caries (cavities) in their early stages. The Diagnodent® laser works by measuring changes in tooth structure, internal and external, and is ninety percent accurate in detecting early cavities.

The Diagnodent® laser is unique and no other product performs better. You receive exact results for every tooth scanned, and it is proven to be more accurate than just visual or X-ray detection.

This procedure is pain free and preserves the teeth. The Diagnodent® device is easy to use and can detect even the smallest of lesions, which is especially useful for the deep pit and fissure areas of the tooth. There is no probing or scraping. The laser gives us a simple scan that signals the dentist with a gentle, audible alert.

By using the Diagnodent® laser, we can rest assured there is no hidden decay and head off any future potential problems, saving our patients’ tooth structures and improving their oral health.

If you have any questions about cavity detection or the Diagnodent® laser, don’t hesitate to contact us today at (414) 525-0300.
